 Accardi Carla
Born in 1924 in Trapani, Sicily, Italy, she is considered one of the main exponents of abstract art in Italy. Graduated at the Academy of Fine Arts (Accademia di Belle Arti) of Palermo in 1947, in the 1950s already starts developing her research, together with artists such as Perilli, Turcato, Guerrini, Attardi, Consagra, Sanfilippo, Dorazio. With them she founds the group Forma 1. In de 1970s she takes part in the project “Cooperarte” with artists such as Rotella, Nangeroni, Pozzati, Isgro’ and Nigro.
She has a long international exhibiting activity and her works figure in prestigious collections such as the Peggy Guggenheim Collection in Venice, the National Gallery of Modern Art (Galleria di Arte Moderna e Contemporanea) in Rome and the Museum of Twentieth Century (Museo del Novecento) in Milan. |
