Arte GV COLLECTION
My name is Giovanni Valentino, simply "Gianni" for my friends. This site is dedicated to my personal collection of modern and contemporary art, the pure passion which has accompanied my professional career of entrepreneur. I started collecting about 20 years ago, in 1988. I got closer to the world of art by frequenting studios, galleries and art exhibitions. I am bounded by a close friendship with two artists from Lissone (Milano): Mario De Leo and Max Marra, present on this site with a large number of works. With them I started my journey throughout the world of art, by supporting initiatives that they proposed to me as they went on or by simply buying their work. As the time passed by, my collection has enlarged with drawings, engravings and paintings from affirmed and historical masters such as: Valerio Adami, Franco Angeli, Enrico Baj, Gianni Bertini, Alighiero Boetti, Hans Hartung, Pino Pinelli, Mimmo Rotella, Emilio Tadini, Ernesto Treccani, Walter Valentini, Ben Vautier and Luigi Veronesi, just to quote a few of the most well-known. Later I got closer to the younger generation with artists such as Luca Alinari, Fernando De Filippi, Wainer Vaccari and Paolo Valle. In the most recent years I am following the path of young artists whose search is still shaping and evolving. I refer in particular to Giovanni Cerri, Michele Chiossi, Leonida De Filippi, Fuelpump (F. Valenti), Federico Guida, Bartolomeo Migliore and Dany Vescovi. My collection is a journey throughout several decades of Italian Art, a piece of our history mirrored by images of artists from different artistic tendencies: from abstraction to figuration, from conceptualism to pop art. |
